Nala — The Cat Who Started It All
Nala appeared with her kittens in September 2024. Caring for her little family became the beginning of the Nekoe Collective journey.
Nekoe CollectiveCommunity-cat care & storytelling
It all started with one cat family.
Then came the visitors, the kittens, the frightened ones, and the friendly ones. Some stayed. Some disappeared and returned. Each meal, safe place to rest, and small moment of trust became part of something bigger.
Nekoe Collective shares the community cats who have crossed our path—and offers food, comfort, care, and hopefully a chance at something better.

Our community impact
Every meal, TNR appointment, foster placement, and share makes a difference.
Meet the collective

Nala appeared with her kittens in September 2024. Caring for her little family became the beginning of the Nekoe Collective journey.

Grey arrived hungry, frightened, and misunderstood. With time, TNR, food, and patience, he became one of the sweetest cats around.

Phantom is a sweet cat who comes and goes and loves to eat. He may belong to a neighbor, or he may be a stray—we still aren't completely sure.

Pawsky—Paw for short—is a very sweet community cat. His two front paws are deformed, which gives him his distinctive big front paws.

Lisa is sweet but feisty with the other cats when they come to eat. Any cat that gets in her way may get a quick reminder from her paw.

Luna is Nala’s daughter. Before we knew about TNR, Luna had about 10 kittens. She has always been one of the hardest cats to trap.

Whisper is a female community cat who is part of the Nekoe Collective story.

Rusty recently showed up looking lost, thin, and ungroomed. He is slowly becoming friendlier and now allows some petting, but he is still scared around people.

Tiny, curious, playful, and occasionally exhausted from doing absolutely nothing.

Tiny has been adopted and is beginning her next chapter in a home of her own.
A few candid moments
Some stay. Some visit. Some disappear and come back months later. Every one of them becomes part of the story.

The littlest members
Sometimes helping one community cat means suddenly meeting an entire new generation.

The cat who started everything
In September 2024, tiny kittens were discovered hiding near a small wall. Soon after, their hungry mother appeared. One meal became another. The family moved into the backyard, began to play and rest nearby, and slowly learned that this was somewhere safe.
We named her Nala for the way she cared for her family and the trust she eventually showed us. We didn’t know it then, but this little family would change everything.
